Design, simulate and fabricate acoustic diffusers — with confidence.
A professional environment that goes from first principles to fabrication: it generates the geometry, predicts performance, reports standards-based metrics, and produces cut lists, CAD files and documentation ready for the workshop and the client. With a rigorous scientific core —number-theoretic design, far-field modeling and a 2D FDTD wave solver.

What is CSM Acoustic Diffuser Calculator
A professional design and simulation environment for acoustic diffusers. It pairs a rigorous scientific core —number-theoretic sequence design, far-field acoustic modeling and a two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) wave solver— with a practical, multilingual desktop application. One tool covers the path from an acoustic goal to a buildable, well-documented panel.
What sets it apart

Six diffuser families
QRD, PRD and BAD in 1D; QRD and PRD 2D (skyline); and curved polycylindrical. From classic number-theoretic panels to curved surfaces.

Two analysis methods
Fast far-field estimators that give polar response, diffusion and uniformity in real time as you iterate; and a 2D FDTD wave solver to cross-check the chosen candidates.

Standards-based coefficients
Diffusion coefficient by autocorrelation (the basis of ISO 17497-2) and scattering by the correlation method against a flat reference (the basis of ISO 17497-1), per frequency and per plane (XZ / YZ).

Multi-objective optimization
The LAB optimizer searches families of designs and returns a Pareto set that balances competing goals, so you pick the trade-off that fits the project. With parametric sweep and target-band assistant.

Calibration against measurement
Import a polar measurement (CSV), calibrate the model against it and compare predicted vs measured — then validate the most promising candidates with the wave solver before fabricating.

From idea to fabrication
Material cut optimizer, cut lists and bills of materials (BOM), and CAD and mesh export (DXF, OBJ, STL, SVG) — ready for carpentry, CNC and 3D printing.
Made for every role

Acoustic technicians
Fast geometry generation, ready-to-cut bills of materials, and CAD and mesh files for carpentry, CNC and 3D printing.

Consulting engineers
Standards-based coefficients (ISO 17497-1 and -2), a wave solver for cross-checking, calibration against measurement and multi-objective optimization.

Architects
Clear 2D/3D previews, polar and frequency plots, and professional PDF reports to communicate performance to the client and the design team.
